Athletic Training is much more than supplementary fitness training. It forms the foundation for healthy, performance-oriented, and long-term success in figure skating. In our Athletic Training sessions, we support the physical development of skaters through a comprehensive and age-appropriate approach. The goal is to create the physical prerequisites for technical progress on the ice, increase overall resilience, and help prevent injuries.
A key focus is placed on improving strength, speed, explosive power, and coordination. Through a variety of bodyweight exercises, participants develop stability, body control, and a better awareness of movement. Playful activities and creative movement classes not only enhance physical abilities but also promote rhythm, movement variety, and enjoyment of physical activity.
Targeted jump and speed training helps improve explosiveness and reaction time. Particular attention is paid to proper technique and age-appropriate training loads. This creates the foundation for higher and more controlled jumps, as well as more dynamic movements on the ice.

A further important component is coordination training. Through a wide variety of exercises, we develop balance, spatial awareness, reaction speed, and the ability to control complex movement patterns with precision. These skills play a crucial role in figure skating, whether in jumps, Spins, Steps, or choreography.
Another key focus is the development of functional strength. Emphasis is placed on whole-body stability, controlled strength development, and the targeted activation of different muscle groups. Particular importance is given to building strength without compromising flexibility. Only the combination of strength, stability, and flexibility allows for efficient and elegant movement on the ice.
Our Athletic Training program supports the individual development of each skater and creates the physical foundation needed to maximize their potential on the ice. A strong, coordinated, and healthy body is the basis for both enjoyment of the sport and long-term success.
